Kumar Mukherjee is the last "shagird" or disciple of the last doyen of Kasur-Patiala Gharana.Late Ustad Munawar Ali Khansahib,groomed and taught Kumar with great care and love.

Kumar's performances are enjoyed by the connoisseurs and lay listeners and the traits of his Guru's style are distinctly present in his renditions.

Hailing from Kolkata,this young vocalist has already made a mark amongst the current breed of vocalists.His last performance at the India Habitat Center,New Delhi was very well received.
