'Evanescence' is an experimental work bringing two fragile elements of nature together, capturing their reaction at the moment of contact. Water and flowers come with their inherent beauty – both are fragile, both have ephemeral forms. The delicate nature of flowers is contrasted with the frozen power of water, the crystalline effect achieved by the use of high speed flashes.

If reports are true, Shazahn Padamsee, daughter of renowned ad-guru-cum-theatre personality Alque Padmasee and pop diva Sharon Prabhakar, will make her dream debut in Bollywood soon. Shazahn, who has been auditioning for several roles for quite some time, is reported have clinched the lead role opposite Ranbir Kapoor in an upcoming Yash Raj Films production directed by Shimit Amin.
Sources reveal that though many heroines auditioned, the crew selected Shazahn, who, according to them, has the right credentials. “For a long time, Yash Raj has been auditioning actors for the leading lady’s role. There are very few young actors who would fit the bill of a leading lady opposite Ranbir. After weeks of auditioning, it seems that Yash Raj has zeroed down on Shazahn Padamsee, thanks to her credentials,†a source said.
Ask Shazahn about this and you have a surprise ‘wow’ for an answer. She is surprised at how information regarding her role reached the media. On further insistence, she says, “I have gone for a lot of film auditions and this was one of those. But there has not been any confirmation yet.

It is named after Afonso de Albuquerque. This was an exquisite and expensive variety of mango, that he used to bring on his journeys to Goa. The locals took to calling it Aphoos in Konkani and in Maharashtra the pronunciation got further transformed to Hapoos. This variety then was taken to the Konkan region of Maharashtra and other parts of India.
The southern district of Ratnagiri and south northern parts of Sindhudurg in Maharashtra state, including regions around the Devgad and Taluka, produce the finest quality alphonso mangoes in India. Alphonso is also cultivated largely in Pune. The southern districts of Valsad and Navsari in Gujarat state and particularly Alphonso mangoes from the Amalsad region (including villages such as Dhamadachha, Kacholi, and all villages of Gandevi) produce Alphonso mangoes as well. Southern States in India are also major mango producing areas. From north to south, climatic changes occur which result in differences in the quality of the produce. Even in Ratnagiri and Devgad the finest fruit comes from a patch of 20 km from the seashore.
The variety grown in Devgad in the Kokan region of Maharashtra is supposed to be the best.

This is an authentic Maharashtrian sweet dish recipe cooked on festivals.......
Ingredients
1 cup Basmati rice, washed and drained
1 tbsp ghee
1 cup sugar and a little more than cup water for the paak (sugar syrup)
4-5 lavanga (cloves)
tsp cardamom powder
8-10 cashewnuts, halved
a good sized pinch of keshar (saffron) strands, soaked in a little milk or water
1 tsp lime juice (optional)
Method
Heat the ghee, when hot add the cloves and cook till the colour of cloves starts changes (don't let them burn).
Add the rice and sautee a bit.
Add two cups water and cook the rice.
When the rice is cooked, gently spread it in a plate and let cool.
Combine the sugar and water. Let the mixture cook till you get a thick syrup. You know the paak is done when a drop of paak put on a metal plate holds it shape and doesn't run. This is referred to as a golibunda paak.
Add the lemon juice (if using), saffron, cardamom powder, cashews, and the rice to the syrup.
Cover and cook till the water evaporates.
The rice tastes better the next day, after all the flavours have had a change to mingle.
